Accurate diagnosing is more than just checking symptoms. It requires a deep understanding of the systems, influences, and decision-making frameworks that shape mental health assessments. In this training, we’ll explore critical factors that impact diagnosing and develop a practical, structured approach for making informed clinical decisions.

ABOUT THE TRAINER: Dr. Kendra C. Roberson, LCSW is a dynamic psychotherapist and lecturer with a thriving trauma-responsive therapy practice. She regularly teaches the "DSM Class" on diagnosing as well as a Body-Based Trauma Interventions class at the University of Washington, School of Social Work. Licensed in multiple states, Dr. Roberson shifted away from a traditional “talk therapy” approach noticing that an emphasis on cognitive-based interventions was not always effective with her clients. After extensive training and study, she is a certified EMDR therapist and Consultant-in-Training. She is also trained in Brainspotting, and Internal Family Systems. Also a yoga teacher, her approach to therapy centers the body as the primary target for healing from deep trauma and emotional pain. Learn more by visiting her website here.

A structured approach to assessing symptoms, ruling out differentials, and arriving at accurate diagnoses
